We will build your birth plan together from start to finish. You will be able to utilize this birth plan to communicate your wishes with your birth team and providers. BONUS! We will also review comfort measures also known as comfort positions. We will teach you what they are and how you can put them to practice and be able to better cope with labor & birth.

Plan
Birth Plan
A birth plan is a way for you to better communicate your birth wishes to those caring for you during labor/ birth and after your baby is born. Why we love a good birth plan here at one love? Because you learn AS you put together your birth plan, and we know knowledge is power. Creating a birth plan encourages you to become well informed in all your options during labor.
Within this section of the workshop, you’re going to think about and write down:
- A bit of relevant medical information relating to this prgnancy.
- Dictate the things that are very important to you in your birth wishes.
- Detail what you would like/prefer during labor.
- If augmentation is necessary/ what kind you prefer.
- If pain relief is desired what you would prefer.
- Your wishes should a Cesarean be imminent and what you would like to occur immediately after baby is born.
Comfort
BONUS: Comfort Positions
Many people walk into their labor & birth with fear of the unknown and high anxiety. However if we can learn some coping skills, we can put some of that stress and anxiety to rest. Comfort measures can be very effective during labor & birth in natural pain relief and in assisting for you to be an active participant in your labor/birth experience.
Within this section of the workshop, you’re going to learn:
- What are comfort measures.
- Comfort measures to utilize in early labor.
- Ways your partner can guide you and help during labor.
- Positioning which contributes for baby to be more engaged in the birth canal.
- Recommended items to have available before labor starts.

HAVE WE MET?
I'm Yamel.
At the beginning of LAST YEAR, my heart and I sat down together and tackled the question: How do we really help soon to be parents prepare for their birth experience?
In order to answer this question, I allowed myself to go down memory lane and recall what I felt leading into my first birth experience. I wanted my voice to be heard, but often wondered how I would advocate for myself when dealing with labor pains and everything else. I also wanted my partner to feel confident that they could comfort and support me even though they had no idea what I was truly going through.
One of the things I have noticed in my years as an RN and Doula is that oftentimes the stress and fear that people walk into their birth experience with is because of things they just don't know. Things that no one explained to them beforehand, and I am here to bridge that gap.
It is no secret that I love this space, the pregnancy, labor/ birth and postpartum space. I gave birth to One Love because helping people during this time of their life was something I could not stop thinking about. I felt everyone deserved to have the most magical birth filled with memories that live on forever, but most importantly that they felt empowered while doing so.
I am that one person in the group called a birth nerd, that knows way too much about pregnancy, stages of labor, optimal pushing positions and how to unclog a clogged milk duct.
I know many of my friends in this community feel that same pain and so ACCESSIBILITY became one of my main business values.
